Somerset West and Gordons Bay) makes up the Helderberg Basin. There is a combination of action packed mountains, warm blue ocean and white sandy beaches, making it one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the world. There are many nature reserves in the area. The most noteworthy being the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, the first proclaimed international biosphere in South Africa, only a half hour drive away, is in the heart of the Fynbos Kingdom with its 1600 fynbos species of which 150 are endemic! 20 minutes drive to Betty's Bay offers the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens which shows off the best of the fynbos kingdom, enjoyed on a relaxing stroll through the gardens or a hiking trail up the deep, forested valleys. Gordon's Bay is host to the aptly named Bikini Beach, a small beach just off the main road, and well protected from the infamous Cape wind. 11 The Sandz is a 3rd floor apartment in a secure complex and central location with a lift and lock up garage. The unit is a block from the beach and offers lovely sea views from the kitchen window and the dining nook. Amenities to suit your everyday needs are within walking distance of the apartment - take-aways, restaurants, drop off and collect laundry facilities, hairdresser and a well-known supermarket is a 15min walk away. The Somerset Mall is 7km away. The unit sleeps a maximum of 4 people. There are two bedrooms, one double room with a queen size bed and a second bedroom with two single beds. Both bedrooms have built-in cupboards. Linen and bathroom towels are provided. There are two bathrooms - one en-suite bathroom and one full bathroom with a bath, twin basins and hand held shower. 42 Kusweg 302 is one of the lovely apartments located in the complex of 42 Kusweg, offering guests accommodation right on beachfront. The self-catering unit comprises three rooms furnished with comfortable double, single and a bunk bed. Offering beautiful views, one balcony features a built-in braai and a dining area. The second balcony if flows out of the main bedroom and features lovely views of Table Mountain in the distance. Off-street parking is available for two cars, with one being able to park in the automated garage. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and opens onto a balcony, while the other two rooms share a bathroom with a bath and shower. All rooms are also equipped with a fan for those hot nights. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, a stove, microwave, washing machine and tea and coffee facilities, and guests can enjoy their meals at the picnic dining table. The lounge is comfortably furnished and equipped with both a TV with DSTV access and a DVD player and opens onto the balcony. Besides the lovely beaches, guests are also able to visit various attractions in the area, including the promenade which has coffee shops, restaurants as well as an entertainment area with mini-golf and a water slide - perfect family entertainment. For the golfers, there's the Strand Golf Course and for the nature lovers, the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve boasts approximately 110 bird species and 1,300 fynbos species. 13 Vines offers a choice of two spacious homes on a 13-hectare grape and olive-growing farm. It has a wonderful country feel but is only 2 km from a world-class shopping centre and 4 km from a renowned medical facility. The now 290m² Vineyard Manor house was built in 1932 and still shows off it's high ceilings and magnificent old wooden floors in the entrance hall, lounge, library and large bedrooms. The owners, Alf and Lyn Downing were forced to extend the original living area because of the continuing arrival of their 13 grandchildren. The resulting extensions of generous, tasteful lounges, dining areas, kitchen, and barbeque room just begs one to enjoy life. And outside, with the push of a button, part of the wooden deck beneath a giant date palm moves aside, as if by magic, revealing a tempting blue swimming pool. Vineyard Manor has 4 rooms. The beds can be set up as either 2 x singles or 1 x king. By contrast, the 260m² Olive Hill has a modern free flowing design and is perched on a hill between the vineyards and the olive groves, giving it spectacular views, particularly from the large partially covered patio. The view is also shared by the huge open plan kitchen, dining, and 2 sitting areas that surround a large 2 way fireplace, ensuring super-cosy relaxation in winter. A large double garage provides ample storage space for any holiday equipment, while a Wendy house and swings in the garden will interest the little ones. Olive Hill beds has 4 rooms. 1 room has a Double bed only. The other 3 rooms have a choice of 2x Single or 1x King.
